Many people talks about Romano Marini Dettina because he is a complete artist: stage director, multimedia designer, writer, musician;

is very easy to find some of his works in a art gallery or find one of his articles in major theatral revues.

In 2009 has directed and designed the great innovative show "I live you" at Teatro Olimpico of Rome, where he wanted to express his dream vision of art with an explosion of lights, colours an sounds.

This performance becomes, in april 2010,"Eni"'s new communication strategy , who carrying out a commercial, reaches the height of his fame.

Also author of his soundtracks, he tests a new musical vision and creates Erettronic.

Curious about this production we have met Romano during a break of one of his performances and we've asked him some questions:

AML: Romano, you have an excellent experience in many artistic fields. What's it that drives you in the advanced research of every field?

RMD: I think that the mix of many elements helps the cretivity.

At this moment, in particular, because of new technologies, there are many opportunities to contaminate every field of art.

To experience with professionists of various backgrounds allowed me to test new territories.

AML: In theatral performance "I live you" you have used colours very much, but this lively use from what is dued?

RMD: For me, colours are understood as light in continuous evolution. From  videos and latest generation of LED, the light illuminates  ideas. An "almost" indispensible mean.

I say "almost" because also the darkness can amplify the emotional impact. Never rule out any possibilities. Even better the right mix of contrasting elements generates new.

AML: Theatre is a love or an experiment?

RMD: Theatre is an experiment. Is a laboratory opened to the public. An artistic moment, not a place. The energy of the public during my performances is comparable to the energy expressed by the public in a club dance.

The important thing is the quality of the time that we have spend, not the place. I create performances where there is really the desire of art.

There are no borderlines.

AML: What is your relationship with the music?

RMD: Music  ever represents my life. I ever worked with sound.

I started DJing when i was only 13 years old and during the years i have played in major parties of the capital and not only. They were times of great raves organized in Rome.

I worked as a dj for Male Productions, a well known organization of the 90s.From there, my role has progressed steadily taking shape. Multimedia designer is a dj.

The dj invents a course, a world...like any other creative and artistic figure.

AML: With your art what is the message that you want to give to you public?

RMD: My message is to observe, test and try to invent using new possibilities offers by technology. Man has to create contents of art and to take advantage of fantasy to create a better world.

I have created the performance of "I live you" precisely to stage the interaction between image and sound man. A fascinating journey that I invite you to do on site www.iliveyou.com.

Effectively, listening his project Erettronic, strikes us immediately the mix between unconventional sounds and rhythmics. We can say that Romano has given a field to the sound.

We have just to wrap the energy of Erettronic to get closer to his interpretation of art.

So there are the tracks contained by Erettronic:

1)Mini Mini

2)Fresa

3)Subby

4)Danzadek

ITAGER – Italy Germany one-way ticket
by Arteria Music Label

 16 April 2010 (Bologna, Italy)

A portmanteau of the words Italy and Germany, the new album ITAGER by Traum Tik (a.k.a. Luca Aniston and DJ Mirabelli) cannot but arouse a certain degree of curiosity.

In the collective imagination, this “union” of words has had – and continues to have – a multitude of meanings. From the tragic and painful memories of the last World War, to the more recent and legendary encounters of the two countries on the football pitch. The World Cup in Mexico in 1970 and Spain in 1982 are the two most representative examples, which have written the history of soccer itself.

So the question which immediately springs to mind is: what does ITAGER really represent for Traum Tik?

To answer this question, we met Luca Aniston on the 2nd of March in Florence, on the occasion of his debut as a solo artist with the release of the EP Weltraum, and the discussion of course turned to the Traum Tik project, with a little sneak preview of just what ITAGER has in store.

For Traum Tik, as Luca told us, ITAGER represents the close bond which they themselves have with the German underground culture within the sphere of techno and minimal music. As far back as 2006, when Italy was listening to a much funkier style, he and DJ Mirabelli were turning their interest towards the German minimal genre, with Richie Hawtin at the top of the charts.

The chilled-out beats of ITAGER are a must-have for all fans of the current techno minimal genre. The production consists of eight tracks, from Traum Tik's Original Mix to the 7 remixes by various DJ producers; big names on the music scene, and well-known and loved by fans and those in the industry alike, for their productions as well as their artistic qualities.

In order of appearance: Marco Piedimonte, Hallen, Monque Cmplsv, Shadow Sync, Gianni Pellecchia, J&S Project and DJ Only.

In a world where the concept of globalisation has become part of all of our lives, it is interesting to note how certain cultures maintain a certain distance and refusal towards this radical evolution of society.

This reflection is confirmed in the profound roots which have written history and which continue to be alive and present in certain cultures and ethnic minorities.

The title Balkan Spirit is a clear and urgent plea to respect the uniqueness of the individual, and his freedom of thought and expression, as well as his wish not to be discriminated against on the basis of his ethnic background. Noble concepts, which all too often remain uncertain, sometimes almost forgotten, because in the real world, for some, living and fighting a war just to survive is part of everyday life.

For Roberto Affuso (aka DJ Only), Balkan Spirit is a ground-breaking production on many levels. An album in techno minimal style, Only brings us his trademark eclecticism, that which has always distinguished this DJ and producer, and has made him unique for the quality of his musical ideas.

As the title suggests, the sound is strongly ethnic, characterised by percussion grooves, sounds and voices with a world music flavour, tribal in places, immediately capturing the imagination of the listener and guiding him on a journey of sound emotions through all the tracks making up the EP, all written and produced by the artist DJ Only.

In order, the tracks are Balkan Spirit, Before Sunrise, Transitions 909, Showreel, Mapping Door and Watergate.

A quality production with great artistic substance, which further consolidates the fame of DJ Only as an artist able to astonish and to convey – as he himself puts it - “an experimental and uninterrupted flow of intense emotions”.

The sublime and revelatory album “Hello” is the new release from gifted young DJ and producer Vitalii Sprezzatura. Its superb artistic qualities aside, the album is also intended as a denunciation, condemning the ease with which words and actions can at times lead to the most extreme forms of violence, so much so that a fitting subtitle for the EP might be “At times words hide their true meaning”.

Indeed the first track on the EP bears the name Ahnenerbe, after the Nazi German think tank which promoted itself as a "study society for Intellectual Ancient History." Founded with the goal of researching the anthropological and cultural history of the Aryan race, the group rather disturbingly came to use concentration camp prisoners in horrific medical and scientific experiments in its latter stages. The track title is emblematic of the message Vitalii wishes to leave us, in other words that we should firmly and unequivocally distance ourselves from any form of racial discrimination.

Vitalii certainly chooses the titles of the tracks on his EP with great care. An extremely simple word, almost “for the masses” we could say, its title Hello forms part of our everyday vocabulary, a metaphor for the use of a “propaganda” aimed at everyone, even the simplest and most humble of people. Dialectis, meanwhile, represents the manner and the form of setting forth a discussion, here revealing its Hegelian roots.

Musically speaking, the entire production “Hello” represents one of the most interesting and original artists on the current techno scene at world level. This may seem like a bold statement, but if we listen closely to each track of the EP, we find ourselves in the company of an extremely talented up-and-coming artist with a rare gift for composition, who is sure to find his own very influential place among the great international DJs and producers in the near future.

Fans are encouraged to visit Vitalii Sprezzatura,on his MySpace page, which provides everything you could want to know about the artist. As well as checking out videos of Ayoze Martel being interviewed and photos of them in action, you can also sign up for the mailing list to receive news and information about upcoming live sets and new releases.

“Weltraum” is the new release from Arteria music label, taking its name from the German meaning “outer space”. Everything surrounding us beyond anything we can imagine, because the confines in our universe - at least as we intend them here on Earth - stretch to infinity due to the constant evolution and birth of new galaxies and solar systems. A concept which throws up a multitude of questions, as well as one absolute certainty; that the universe is anything but static.

The main element characterising this release by Luca Aniston is its dynamism, its constant movement, almost like an interplanetary journey towards destinations as yet unknown; implying also a sense of the “immense”, just like the nature of space itself. Certainly an important message which sets man before great questions, as well as critical choices – where he often takes the right road, but not always.

The cover image of the EP and its title take the listener towards new dimensions and unexplored places, but it is reassuring to know that the sounds accompanying it will be “warm”, in the style of deep and tech-house atmospheres, while remaining faithful to the minimal genre in its new form, and rich in contaminations.

Of the three tracks making up the release, “Original Traum Mix” is by Luca Aniston, while “Mirabelli Tik Mix” is by DJ Mirabelli, who collaborated with him on the parallel project “Traum Tik”. The two worked together to create the last track on the EP, entitled “Antonio F.”, dedicated to the memory of a dear friend who recently passed away.

Currently a DJ and producer, musician Luca Aniston has ten years' experience of classical piano and numerous other releases behind him, which have brought him great commercial success and taken him to one of the top positions in Beatport's minimal genre chart. Aniston's work has also attracted great interest from Ahmet Sendil (Boshpours Underground), whose name certainly needs no introduction.

Luca Aniston's productions reveal increasing influences from the techno of Joseph Capriati, the minimal of Hobo, Gaiser, Roger and the Tech-house of Ramon Tapia, Anja Schneider, Monika Kruise, Paul Ritch, Dubfire and of course Richie Hawtin, while his sound and way of composing reveal a remarkable talent in the creation of his own personal style.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a Spanish municipality in the autonomous community of the Canary Islands, together with Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is for many the ideal place to escape the daily grind. Set on the Atlantic Ocean to the west of Morocco, its geographic position made it a strategic departure point for many sixteenth century explorers.

Fast forward to the year 2010, and things have radically changed. And ready to set sail from this land of sun, sea and history is the new “adventure in sound” by Ayoze Martel, a young DJ and producer from Las Palmas.

His new production “Impacto” features 4 remixes with a strong tech-house and minimal style, leaving room for countless contaminations, as has been happening for some time now in this type of production. Particularly in the minimal genre, so different today compared to when it first came about.

The natural “evolution” of this musical genre is reflected in “Impacto”, where Martel, Bolognese, DJ Francois, Mis&Gas and DJ Kappa give a superb performance, bringing us an EP of sounds and rhythms with a strong and focused use of percussion - almost tribal at times - almost as if to recount and take us back through the history of the island of Gran Canaria prior to its discovery.

“Impacto” deserves an attentive listening... behind its bold character lie many subtle nuances in terms of sound and percussion, leaving plenty of room for interpretation, and to the imagination!
